The Kent Barns on Maple Street are historic barns intertwined in the small town of Kent, CT. Kent is a village in the northwest hills of Litchfield County. The town was incorporated in 1739 and is a great spot for seasonal trout fishermen to wade into the various brooks and streams coming down the mountains. As of 2014, the population was slightly under 3,000. Kronenberger & Sons restored the existing barns near downtown, and we were the construction managers for the entirety of the project. We lifted the barns and outbuildings in order to form new foundations, rebuilt the original post and beam framing, applied new sheathing, roofing, and fenestrations, and installed modern plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. The barns are now rented out as shops, art galleries, fitness studios, bookstores, and much more.
